The Fundy coast and Saint John
Atlantic gales and salt-laden air. Coastal builds get an aluminium-zinc coating rather than plain galvanized steel, with heavier cross-bracing for the wind.
Inland and the north - Edmundston and the upper valley
The double threat: a heavy snowfall followed by freezing rain that adds ice on top of snow already sitting on the roof. That combination governs the roof design, and it is why an out-of-province frame is often under-specified here.
Province-wide - damp air
Maritime humidity makes vapour control and thermal breaks worth specifying up front, or condensation shows up on the inside of the panel.

Getting it to your site
Three to four weeks into the Moncton, Fredericton and Saint John corridors once drawings are approved. The Acadian Peninsula and northern New Brunswick are quoted route by route rather than estimated. Because every frame is engineered to your address, freight is planned with the order rather than added at the end.

How do you design for freezing rain?
Ice load is treated as its own case on top of snow, rather than folded into it. That is why an inland New Brunswick roof is often specified more heavily than the same building further west.
Do I need a permit in New Brunswick?
Generally yes, and you may also need a development permit from your regional service commission in addition to a building permit. Confirm both with your local authority before ordering. We supply engineered, sealed drawings for the application.
Can I put the building up myself?
Most of our customers do, or they hire a local crew. The frame bolts together and ships with a full drawing set, and we can point you to installers across most of the province.
Will it rust on the coast?
Not if it is specified properly. Coastal builds use an aluminium-zinc coated steel rather than plain galvanized, which holds up far better in salt air. Tell us the address and the coating is specified for the exposure it will actually see.
